Arts Week

'Take One Picture' is the National Gallery's countrywide scheme for primary schools. Each year the Gallery focuses on one painting from the collection to inspire cross-curricular work in primary classrooms. The challenge is then for schools to use the image imaginatively in the classroom, both as a stimulus for artwork, and for work in more unexpected curriculum areas.

This year's picture is 'Beach Scene' by Edward Degas. And every class in school has a print of the work on display. Lots of work this term will be based around this picture and it will form the basis of our 'Artsweek' which will take place during the week of 7th - 11th February, the week before the half term break.

Each class took a section of the painting and when put together shows the whole painting. The display is in the hall.

Below is the display from KS1.
