Tsunami AppealA fund raising day was held on Friday 14th January to raise money to buy aqua boxes to send out for the people affected by the devastating tsunami. Aqua Boxes are large, lidded plastic boxes which contain a filter, a tap and enough water purification tablets to clean 1500 litres of water. Each box costs £50, which included the carriage, and there were recommend items, such as soap, nappies, towels etc. which could be included in the box if so desired. We held a mufti day and asked for a minimum donation of 50p and if anyone wanted to donate something from the list we would include it. We hoped to be able to buy and fill four or five boxes but due the generosity of the parents at The Downley School we raised £1360 and the recommended items donated allowed us to fill and send 27 boxes! It was a great achievement.
