19 May 2006 - THE DOWNLEY NETBALL CLUB
Netball club training sessions are every Wednesday. The Netball club is always a popular after school club here and this year we have had a strong interest from many girls from Year 4 to Year 6. The older girls enter the High Wycombe District Junior Netball League. We have two teams which train regular in all weathers! The girls focus on different skills as well as playing matches. We play High Five Netball, which allows the girls to develop in all positions and areas of the game as well as keeping score and timing games.
The squad this year have done extremely well. Both the A and B Teams have played some beautiful netball and have really worked hard and hopefully had fun!
As a result the A Team came top of their section and played in the play-off finals on the 19th May. Again the girls performed well and although they did not win the overall cup they did receive a trophy for winning their section.
Well Done to all the girls who played this year!!
